Traveling Solo Without Being Alone

Phase 07

Traveling Solo Without Being Alone

You do not need someone else's yes.

Not allowing someone else's maybe next year to decide when you see the world.

Going solo versus traveling alone

These are not the same thing. Traveling alone means you handle every logistic, meal and problem by yourself. Going solo on a group experience means you arrive by yourself and are immediately part of something. One is isolation. The other is independence.

Someone else has handled the routing, the vendors, the transfers and the reservations. You spend your energy on the experience rather than the administration.

You will not walk in cold. Group communication starts before departure, so the first faces at the airport are not strangers.

Walking into a new group

Everyone feels some version of what you feel. Introduce yourself early rather than waiting to be approached, sit somewhere different at each meal, and ask people what brought them. You will find your people by day two.

You are not obligated to be social every hour. Take the free afternoon. Skip the optional dinner. A good group experience holds space for that.

You can be warm and still have limits. I am going to take this evening to myself is a complete sentence.
